2023 marked the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop music…and The Boom Bap Hour presented a posthumous award to James Brown, in honor of Hip Hop's 50th Anniversary. His daughter, Dr. Deanna Brown-Thomas says that this is actually the very FIRST award her father has ever received to honor his contributions to Hip Hop culture...and that she was proud for this moment to happen here in his hometown of Augusta.

Selah's leadership in Hip-Hop education and community empowerment earned him recognition as a finalist for the A3C Action Accelerator for Hip-Hop Social Change.
